On December 24, 2020, CECEP Capital Holdings Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP), provided loans of 290 million yuan (US$44.8 million) via the fund of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Tianjin Dongli biomass energy and waste integrated utilization project of China National Environmental Protection Group (CNEPG), another subsidiary of CECEP. 

Given the innovation and demonstrative role of the Linyi Model, CECEP Capital has recommended this model to the ADB several times. This time, its successful introduction of ADB fund into CNEPG’s Tianjin Dongli project broke through some of the ADB’s restrictions on loans for Category-A waste-to-energy projects. Through leveraging the long-term low-interest loans from the ADB, this move is expected to support the development of CECEP’s main business.
