As COVID-19 spreads worldwide, all employees of overseas branches of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) have united to stick to their posts despite grave difficulties. Some overseas branches produced multilingual brochures to publicize knowledge about epidemic prevention and control among local employees, and some set up temporary prayer rooms in their factories according to their employees’ religious beliefs to protect them from infection risks due to gathering outside. Chinese and foreign employees in some overseas subsidiaries have worked closely together to overcome difficulties and push forward project construction and contracting process in an orderly manner. The pandemic poses a tough test. CECEP overseas employees braved the challenge and have actively performed social responsibility and cared for colleagues, playing an important role in helping CECEP get through the crisis, maintain growth in output and revenue, and erect a positive image globally.

We hereby collected photos of our employees in overseas projects and presented the report series “CECEP Overseas Employees Stay Put during COVID-19 Pandemic” to showcase their work and lives abroad during the outbreak.

Ben McFarlane, a field manager at the Australia company of CECEP Wind Power Corporation Co., Ltd., becomes a “guardian” for epidemic control and production safety at the company’s White Rock Wind Farm. Since the COVID-19 epidemic broke out in Australia in March, McFarlane has actively implemented the company’s emergency plan for COVID-19 prevention and control, and drawn on the experience of CECEP subsidiaries in China to strengthen safety supervision on on-site operations of contractors and enhance the admission requirements and management of the wind farm. Thanks to such efforts, no suspected or confirmed cases have been reported in the wind farm, effectively offsetting the impact of the epidemic on maintenance work and guaranteeing the smooth operation of the wind farm.
