On the morning of March 23, 2020, Song Xin, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP), visited CECEP subsidiaries Hi-Tech Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. and Xiaotangshan Recycled Water Plant, which takes charge of treatment of medical wastewater from Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital, to inspect work related to epidemic control, operation resumption and safe production.

Song first visited Hi-Tech Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. under CECEP Assets Management Co., Ltd. He inspected the company’s ultra-clean production line and Phase II of the High-power Semiconductor Laser and Parts High-tech Demonstration Project. Song asked Hi-Tech Optoelectronics to take concrete action to promote the construction of the Phase II of the project while continuing to advance epidemic control and safe production, and make every effort to support the implementation of CECEP’s technological innovation projects.

Then, Song inspected Xiaotangshan Recycled Water Plant under General Water of China Co., Ltd. He particularly checked the plant’s water intake and discharge, biochemical pond system and central control room, and enquired information about the impact of medical wastewater from Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital on the quality of influent and effluent water, pipeline distribution, reserve of anti-epidemic supplies, and implementation of emergency response measures. He stressed that enterprises at all levels should attach great importance to emergency treatment of medical wastewater from Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital, formulate targeted emergency response plans, and overcome difficulties to support Beijing’s epidemic prevention and control with a more responsible attitude and more effective measures by ensuring safe, efficient treatment of medical wastewater from Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital, guaranteeing the quality of effluent water meets relevant discharge standards, and preventing “secondary contamination.”
