I received a call from my superior, informing me that the contaminated masks would be transported to our Chengdu Xiangfu Waste Incineration Power Plant for destruction. As the executor and supervisor of this dangerous task, I was quite aware of the high trust from my organization and the heavy responsibility on my shoulders. After hanging up the phone, I immediately rushed to the workshop, put on face mask and helmet, and threw myself to strenuous preparations. 

It was not until the truck loaded with contaminated masks drove into our power plant and the “special for transporting contaminated masks” label on the body of the truck in which the driver wore thick protective clothing popped up before my eyes did I realize that the virus was so close to me.

Every step from taking pictures to disinfecting and weighing proceeded in accordance with regulations. Seeing the disinfectant being spilled all over the truck, I felt like witnessing the virus being killed while a rainbow emerged from the depth of my heart. After disinfection and unloading, a mechanical hand threw the masks into the kiln before the fire engulfed them soon, marking an end to the virus. Yes, we’ll do everything we can to kill this enemy!
